FROM THE WEST

THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO LEAVE OUR HOUSE, THIS COMMUTE WILL BE HEADING WEST
HEADED WEST DOWN 176TH ST. WE ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE ON THIS STREET SITS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF TOWN.
WE TURN LEFT AND PASS FRANKVILLE'S ONLY CHURCH. IT'S A VERY NICE SMALL CHURCH, THEY HELD THEIR ANNUAL SUMMER ICE CREAM SOCIAL LAST WEEK. SAME MENU OF MAIDRITES & EGG SALAD SAND AND FRESH STRAWBERRIES & ICE CREAM OR HOMEMADE PIE OF EVERY KIND. I HAD FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE. THEY EVEN BROUGHT BACK MUSIC IN THE YARD. KARLA (Klepper) JOHNSON HAD KARAOKE AND SINGING.
TURNED LEFT ON FRANKVILLE BLACKTOP, HEADED DOWN MAIN STREET OF "BEAUTIFUL DOWNTOWN FRANKVILLE" ALL OUR BUSINESSES ARE ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. FIRST BUILDING IS THE OLD FIRE STATION USED FOR STORAGE NOW. NEXT IT THE BERG HOUSE, WERE DOUGLAS WAS RAISED, NEXT THE "OLD STORE" BAR AND NEXT BUILDING YOU CAN'T SEE IS OUR OTHER BUSINESS, JANET'S CLIP & CURL.
ABOUT 1 MILE OUT OF TOWN, SIGNS SAYS LEAVING WINNESHIEK CO. WE ARE NOW INTO ALLAMAKEE CO.
AND THE SCENERY FOR THE NEXT 5-6 MILES, IS CORN, BEANS, HAY AND MORE CORN, BEANS & HAY. AFTER 4 MILES ON THE BLACKTOP YOU TURN ON RIGHT ONTO HWY 51
HERE WE ARE GOING AROUND "OLD HORSESHOE BEND" AND IT NEVER FAILS THERE IS ALWAYS THIS GOING ON SOMEWHERE IN IOWA:
AND THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE WORKING SIGN, ON YOUR LEFT ABOUT 1/4 MILE OUT OF POSTVILLE IS A NEW REC ELECTRIC BUILDING GOING UP. AND NOW WE WILL BE ENTERING THE CITY LIMITS OF POSTVILLE
BOYHOOD HOME OF JOHN R MOTT, NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER.
COMING INTO TOWN, YOU HAVE TO SLOW DOWN FOR THE RAILROAD CROSSING, AS DOUG SAYS" LOOK, LISTEN AND LIVE" AND THEN CRUISE ON DOWN MAIN STREET
LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE ALITTLE WAIT THIS MORNING, THIS IS THE FAMOUS 4-WAY, THIS IS WHERE HWY 51 MEETS 18, LOTS OF TRAFFIC SOMETIMES. WE CRUISE STRAIGHT THRU AND TURN RIGHT ON POST STREET. AND DOWN 2 BLOCKS ON YOUR LEFT YOU WILL FIND JOHN R MOTT HIGH SCHOOL, "HOME OF THE PIRATES"
I WORK IN THE ATHLETIC DEPT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL, SCHEDULING GAMES, OFFICIALS FOR 7-12 SPORTS PROGRAMS. AND TRYING TO KEEP A HAND FULL OF COACHES HAPPY. HERE IS MY LITTLE CUBBY HOLE OF AN OFFICE.
PHEW, THATS ALOT OF NEWS. AND GUESS WHAT MY CAR IS PARKED OUT FRONT AND HEADED EAST, SO STAYED TUNED TOMORROW FROM THE EAST AND MORE PICTURES OF THE INSIDE THE HIGH SCHOOL. IT'S BEDTIME AND I WILL LEAVE YA WITH THIS THOUGHT:

THAT WILL GET MY COCKTAIL BUDDY GOING!!!!!!!!! AND YES THIS WAS TAKEN ON MY COMMUTE TO WORK ABOUT 1/4 MILE OUT OF POSTVILLE.

FROM THE EAST TOMORROW.

TOODLES

TERESA
